"March"ing on!

March already!  Spring is always a time for organization and I am no exception.  I always have grand ideas but not all of them get done.  This spring, I am concentrating on my blog and business.  In doing so, I am revamping my newsletter.  I have used the one that Close To My Heart provides, but I found not everyone was receiving it and I wanted to add more to what they were providing.

So I have launched a current Newsletter!  You may have received yours.  If you have previously opted out and do not want to receive it any more, please be patient with me and just opt out. I will for SURE not send you anything else.  BUT, maybe you haven't gotten my former newsletter and would like to, please use the form below and OPT-IN!!!

I look forward to sharing with you my continued journey with Close to My Heart and papercrafting.  If there is anything you would like to see please leave me a comment below!  I would be thrilled to get some input on what you enjoy most.  I will continue to share the specials that Close to My Heart has each month as well as our Stamp of the Month.  I plan to have kits available to purchase and techniques, tips and tricks included in each newsletter as well.

Happy Scrapping and don't forget to scroll down if you have not received this month's newsletter and sign up!  It's FREE! :)

View from my window

I know alot of the country already has had enough of winter.  But we have had pretty warm weather this year and very little, almost nonexistent snow.  So, I can not resist showing you the lovely view I have gotten to enjoy this week!  It was so quiet when it first came down and everything seemed still and relaxed.  I have enjoyed a couple of snow days with the family too.  Everyone was home again today and life is good.  Yes, we did "make a snowman" too! :) So bear with me while I enjoy the last few weeks of winter!

Welcome Little One!

As you know I have been working on my grands' albums.  I had not started our newest addition's album yet and I finally got that underway!  Here is the title page.  It was interesting that while I was working on this page, Jeanette Lynton had a post about title pages on the blog!  You can find it here, Make it from Your Heart.   Just scroll down to February 11th for the post.  I have already been doing this for each of my grandchildren.  I put a title page with their full names and birth stats and pictures of them.  I hope you enjoy this one.   I scraplifted the layout from Scrappy Chick Designs. It was from June 2013.  I love it!
(The names and stats have been blocked for privacy. )

I have been using the Close to My Heart retired kit, Miracle for his newborn pictures.  I like to tell you what kits I have used in case you have that one also!  I love to find ideas for some of the older kits I still have not used. This might have been a Workshop on the Go kit or a promotional special.  It included Mini Medley Accents Colonial White collection and Irresistibles Chipboard Die-Cuts, and Colonial White Waxy Flax, as well as the Stickease to it.  The colors are Colonial White, Sweet Leaf, Olive and Crystal Blue.  I hope you enjoy this taste of what I've been working on.

Happy Birthday!

Today I wanted to share with you a birthday card I sent my sweet sister.   We have several birthdays in January / February so I was trying to keep up!  But I especially liked this one.  I used the newest Cricut cartridge from Close To My Heart-Artfully Sent!  I am really enjoying this cartridge and the fun alphabet stamp set that came with it.  You can see the set here.

Isn't that fun?  It was so simple too.  I enjoyed making this card and only added the prism glitter to set it off!

Creativity

Creativity.  I believe we are all born with it.  Just watch children play.  They don't worry about who is watching or whether or not anyone else likes what they are making.  They just give themselves with abandon over to whatever is capturing their interest at the time.  Color, shape, texture, even lights at times are part of what captures that interest and gives them a medium to work with.  It is amazing that even just sitting in a pile of brightly colored blocks can entertain the smallest of children!

As I watched some of my grandchildren play today, I noticed they didn't worry about what others thought of their creations, they were enjoying the process.  Wouldn't it be fun to be a kid again for a day?  Do we still enjoy the PROCESS of our "playing"?  Our crafts, whatever it may be, is our "play time".  Are we enjoying the color, the textures, the shapes?  Or are we worrying and stewing over what others will think or if it is "good enough"?  Do we throw ourselves to abandon and create something that we like?  Or are we trying to fit into a mold and "fit in"?

My grandchildren had no limits to what they could do...just their imaginations.  Maybe we need to take time in our creating and just enjoy the sparkle, the textures, the emotions that go into our projects!  Try just sitting in the middle of our "toys" for a while and let our imaginations soar!  You can do it and so can I!  Play again!  Create!  It is FUN!

Hope...are you scrapping yours?

All of us have storms in our lives...and one way or another we get through them.  Hope always has a place somewhere in that storm.

We should leave in our scrapbooking a legacy of where we found that hope.  Even small notes of how hope got us through our storm.

How about you?  In this new year, we hope for no storms, but they come. Come share with us where your hope lies!  How would you or do you add that strength to your albums?
